To move the door to the front or rear in the body opening to correct vertical spacing, remove the door trim pad, loosen the three hinge screws to the door inner panel, "B" in Fig. 7, and move the door as necessary for proper alignment. Additional up and down movement of the door may also be made by loosening these same three hinge screws to the door inner panel. Tighten all screws securely following any adjustment.
All adjustments for rear door alignment at the lock pillar are made in the same manner as on front doors.
Front-Door Check and Hold-Open Device
A combination door check and hold-open device is used on front doors. This comprises a check and hold-open link having a large diameter center section which, upon swinging the door open, is forced through the opening between two spring-loaded bumper shoes similar to the door dovetail shoe and casing assembly. The position and tension of the bumper shoes on the check link when the door is open prevents the door swinging to the closed position without manual effort. Fig. 8.
The door hold-open casing assembly is a detachable unit held to the opening in the door hinge pillar by two screws which also hold the stamped casing cap. The body hinge pillar end of the check and hold-open link is attached by one screw to a yoke on which the link pivots. The door end of the link is threaded and screws into a rectangular-shaped rubber-covered check link stop which rides inside the door.
Rear-Door Check and Hold-Open Device
The rear door check is a separate unit from the

The body end of the link is attached to the body hinge pillar by one screw to a yoke bracket. The door end of the link threads into the bumper shoe which slides inside the door and checks the door opening by contact with the inside of the door hinge pillar.
