DELCO BRAKE SERVICE MANUAL
dirt, anti-freeze, etc. Extreme care should be taken to clean the filler cap before refilling a system with fluid. Parts should be washed clean in Declene and coated with new brake fluid before assembly.
(4)  A good brake fluid should lubricate the moving parts in the master cylinder and wheel cylinders. The life of rubber cups is dependent upon this characteristic.
(5)  A good brake fluid should have no corrosive action on metal parts. Pitting and rusting with resultant increased wear of rubber parts may often be traced to the use of poor brake fluid.
(6)  A good brake fluid must be chemically stable and must have a high water tolerance. Cheap fluids often separate under conditions of high or low temperature or continued usage, and lose efficiency. Sludge is formed and corrosive action accelerates. A good fluid neutralizes or assimilates water which naturally accumulates in the brake system. Failure to do this leaves the water in concentrated form and results in corrosion and pitting.
Delco Brake Fluids exhibit all of the desirable
characteristics outlined above and, in addition, have proved themselves superior under actual operating conditions. Delco Super 9 meets SAE moderate duty specifications and Delco Super 11 meets SAE Heavy Duty and Government 2-111 specifications.
