Absorbers (All Types) While on Car
1. Clean all dirt from around filler
plug.
2. Remove filler plug, Fig.
9.
3. Fill to capacity with G.M. Shock Insulating
fluid.
4. Work arm up and down by bouncing car while
adding fluid, or disconnect link
at axle and operate arm as
shown in Fig. 19, while filling.
CAUTION-Shock absorber must not
be filled completely full. Approximately 10% air space must be provided as
over-filling may result in blowing the cover gasket out. After filling to
capacity, extract a quantity of fluid equal to 10% of the amount the shock
absorber will hold.
5. Replace filler plug, using new
gasket.
