PROPELLER SHAFT AND UNIVERSAL, CAB-OVER-ENGINE 109-1/8" MODEL
The propeller shaft and rear universal joint are the same design as the conventional 1-1/2-ton trucks. However, this model does not use a front propeller shaft assembly. The front universal joint is the same type as the intermediate universal joint on the conventional models, with the exception of the front yoke.
When installing the front universal joint on the propeller shaft the rear yoke should be in the same plane (line) with the front yoke of the rear universal joint. This will line up the front and rear universal joints properly.
195-1/8" WHEELBASE CHASSIS
The propeller shaft assembly on the 195-1/8" Wheelbase chassis used for the School Bus comprises three propeller shafts and four needle bearing universal joints. The front and intermediate propeller shafts are of the same design, the only difference being in their length. The support
brackets for the front and intermediate propeller shafts are mounted to the frame cross members in identically the same manner.
The instructions given for servicing the regular 1-1/2-ton and Cab-Over-Engine propeller shaft assemblies apply to propeller shaft assembly on 195-1/8" Wheelbase chassis.
